Why my training sucked recently

First the good news…Nov.22, Mitchell Rees Sefton was born. 7 lbs. 13oz. I was able to get some decent runs in with the 3 year old in the jogger when the little one was sleeping after we got home.

Then, last week, the little one got sick. He had a respiratory viruus and spent the last week in the hospital. Nothing like sitting in a hospital room with a wheesing coughing baby all day and night to kill any thoughts of being active. The best part was rushing to the emergency room at 2:30 AM.

We got him home last night though and are looking to get things back to normal. It might be a few weeks to carve out training time. I’m thinking time off for the holidays is good to get back to doing some runs and rides. I’ll just have to try not to eat too much before then.

Congratulations! Post a photo of the new addition!!

Congrats KMS, and glad to hear the little one is fine. Family is way higher on the totem pole of priorities than training, so it’s good to hear you’re there for the little ones.

What’s the problem with eating, drinking, and spending time w/ family before the official start of the 2006 training program, which by the way, begins Jan. 1? Gain 10-15 lbs., drink lots of beer, and eat whatever pleases. The pants will be on too tight and you’ll feel like crap, but it makes the shedding of those pounds and the overall results that much satisfying.
