i thought the parking lot looked a little thin when i drove up to the jcc at lunch today so i wasn’t surprised to see a sign on the door that said, “pool closed due to circumstances beyond our control.” i must have said, “fuck” outloud because a guy walking out told me that an old lady had let one (or two or three) go in the pool.
now, i’m unsure if i ever want to swim in there again. i have enough to think about during my swim (high elbow, glide, etc). i don’t need to think about how much poo i’m drinking.
It happens more than a lot of people might think. I don’t know where your pool is, but in Montgomery County, MD, there have been increasingly aggressive procedures mandated for that kind of situation that should assure that you would be safe.
People always say I am crazy for swimming at 5:30 am - right when the pool opens. For me – this is the best time – the pool closes at 9:00 PM – this leaves 8.5 hours of the pool filter and pool chemicals to do thier job.
I used to swim at night – right after a bunch of kids were in the pool – the water was always a funny color and had a bad smell. Swimming in the morning - the pool is crystal clear.
i’m going to assume that they’re doing a big-time cleaning as we type. the funny (?) thing is the pool has been closed for the last 2 weeks for annual cleaning and maintenance. ha, ha.
i was a lifeguard and its accourding to the pools regulations but the zap the hell out of the pool…and it has to circualte for like 10 hours…your lucky that was all it was but if people gag in the pool u scoop and let people swim in that ish…but i worked at the cary ymca worst aquactics director and he wouldnt close the pool down for nothing and he sucks on following up on regulations…
