65 miles down the road and we got nothing. Forecast on Sunday said it was supposed to head our way but apparently even the snow doesn’t think that Rochester is a worthwhile place to visit.

Has it really ever?
When I was at R.I.T. back in the late 80’s up to 1990, every big snow storm forecasted was a bust. All storms always managed to snake below Rt. 20 and head east.
Sadly, it has. We had several snow days last year (okay, actually 2 of them were based on forecasts that were busts). Given that Roc is listed on several sites (but, weirdly, not all) as in the top 3 snowiest cities in the US, we get our fair share of white crap. The Wife and I were talking about this and seem to believe that we get an endless supply but cities like Buffalo and Syracuse (the other 2 competing for top honors), while getting nearly equal volumes of disgusting white filth, seem to get pounded hard and then ignored.
If it wasn’t having to put up with the loser Leafs you should move to Toronto. Apparently they’re mostly dodging the bullet tonight.
Heh. Not my problem, really. I live in Kitchener, just off the top left corner of the image, and we’ve been getting some of Lake Huron’s crap, but right now it’s only about 4" or so. I’m not worried (about the snow that is. The Leafs on the other hand… But that’s an annual anxiety. Southern Ontario’s own version of Seasonal Affective Disorder).
The only thing Buffalo has going for it is the wings, which I like to believe were created in Rochester.
Buffalo was once considered part of the rust belt, until some meth addicts stripped it of all the copper piping. (Yes, I know copper doesn’t rust, you science fuckheads, but it does corrode.)
It doesn’t suck to live in Buffalo… it sucks to live in the southtowns! Buffalo and the north towns got nothing. I’m in Hamburg. I shoveled the roof of my covered patio last night. I wasn’t feeling too good about the odds with 4-5’ of wet snow on a shallow pitched roof. Now they’re talking about another 1-2 ft tonight. It’ll be the weekend before we’re allowed to drive again!
