Why Is Everyone Driving Like Frick’n Assho….s?

What is wrong with people? I had to engage the supercharger at full boost three times coming to work this morning to get around people that were not moving with all appropriate alacrity and were thus improperly impeding my forwardly progress. And what’s with the people at work on the escalator that refused to walk and were just standing there like the half-asses they are getting in my way? Didn’t they know I wanted to see how bad the lactic acid burn was by walking up them? And what about the 2 people that walked in front of me without looking when I stopped to get something to eat. What’s with that? The entire world is being inconsiderate and getting in my way.

Uh oh….., maybe its not them. This is day four of the taper for IMOO. Aw crap, it’s me. I hate it when that happens.

Man, this is going to be ugly because the taper is not even really fully in effect yet and I am already nutz. Sensi allowed me to touch Z4 briefly a couple of times last nite on a 90 minute ride and I have a negative split 7 mile run and a long swim that I have to fit in today. The taper really comes at full force this weekend when the run and ride get cut. I don’t even want to think about it.

I think I need to go out and get a driver or rent a Volvo for the next 2 weeks or so. Is anyone else certifiable yet?

I feel that way and I’m not tapering. Doe this mean I am mentally ill?

Nope, but you are one aggressive and agitated guy.

It’s going to be a long 15 days.

soooo…you drive dangerously and put others at risk because…why?

i find it funny that as cyclists we get pissed off when the roads aren’t safe when we’re riding. but, as soon as we’re off the roads and bikes–game on, it’s as if we become other people with an entirely different set of priorities.

it’s as if we adopt the attitude of, “who cares if I drive like an asshole!” suddenly, we no longer care about safe roads (after all, we’re no longer riding our bikes at that moment). Instead, getting to our destination is more important; some even put this priority over the safety of others.

it’s not cool.

Road was deserted.

so what.

don’t you realize that people get hit all the time because wreckless drivers “didn’t even see” the person they ran over.

if you want validation that it’s ok to drive like an asshole–perhaps asking a cycling group isn’t the right venue. i understand tapering; but too many of us demand safe roads to ride on, then turn right around and make those very same roads unsafe. it’s uncool, and hypocritical.

if you’re that pissed off–go hit a punching bag.

A deserted road you can see down for a long way. Risk factor is zero unless someone fell out of tree.

Okay, I give up. Just trying to entertain in part for those in the taper…..

Sounds like a classic case of “taper tantrum.” Good luck with the next 2 weeks!
