Why I posted about hating Steve Larsen

Not to bait him for a justification

Not to enflame all AGers seeking a Kona slot

Not to have Slowman delete my post

Just to stimulate some discussion. Think about that next time you see a yellow ribbon or watch the 10 second Fallen Heros clip on the CBS Evening News. Cherish your loved ones and be ever so passionate about your endeavors whatever they may be, wherever they may find you.

i didn’t read any of the posts beyond the one he just posted…but did he ever say anything about the charges of the PED’s in his past???

He was never found to use PED’s. Period.

No, but he pushed OPTYGEN
.

Good question, Bucky.

Why don’t you ask him?

i fear Dan.

Dave Scott used to push that stuff that had ‘galactose’ back in the mid-90’s. All of those cats flog whatever magic supplement product that its makers pay them to push.

I don’t really care about former pros competing in the AG ranks one way or the other. I think it’s good that we’re in a sport where ‘the greats’ like Larsen, or Scott Molina or others can toe the line with the mere mortals and everybody can just enjoy a day of fun in the sun  I mean, what other sport let’s you go up against some of its superstars on a virtually the same playing field?

As far as him doing Kona, that’s okay too, I guess. At least he’s doing it for charity, and not just out of selfishness or for some grab at a kind of self-actualization.

Dude,

Relax I pretty much don’t care about the issue, but hate Steve Larsen over the whole issue? Lighten Up Francis

“No, but he pushed OPTYGEN”

i don’t think there’s anything in it on the banned list, is there? i don’t care if he pushed amyl nitrate, as long as it’s not on the banned list. thing is, i have actually heard that optygen works, tho i don’t know personally.

Heh Tony, what’s up? But, come on, let’s admit it. Most if not all triathletes do this sport for some kind of healthy self-actualization and, yes (I hate to repeat it because it has been the subject of many many posts on this esteemed forum) a bit of “selfishness”. I do realize I’m treading on thin ice because I have no idea what self-actualization really means. Does it make hair grow on your palms?

Heh is your company going on strike? Gotta know if my brother-in-law needs some beer money or not. And how are your baggage-throwing skills?

Hate him? You HATE Steve Larsen? Gee, I only don’t like him…

You know him? It’s sort-of hard to not like someone if you don’t even know him in the first place.

There’s a paper that says it doesn’t… either way, it’s legal…

I’ve never met GW either… does that answer your question?

Pro road cyclist, raced in Europe.

Pro mountian bike racer, several championship titles.

Pro triathlete, Ironman winner.

I only wish others could/would recognize the magnitude of the committment, dedication and sacrifice it takes to achieve such a degree of success in such a short period in each sport.

Hey, Marty! It looks pretty grim right now for the AMFA mechanics, but Mike won’t have to worry about it. We’ve already lined up tech ops support at all the stations that have AMFA people. I had to lay off all the aircraft cleaners last month (they’re part of AMFA), and we’ve got vendor security personnel (all former SF-types) hitting the deck and prepping for action.

My bag-throwing skills are top-notch  Hopefully, I won’t need to be out there running the loaders and parking the planes :-))

Expressing your thoughts in words too taxing?

I respect your motive.
