Bike computers are for bike riding, not watches.
Well since a decent tri watch is also a bike computer you may need to explain that…
I used to use my 910XT with a quick release and moved it from the bike to my wrist just before arriving at T2. It was a bike computer on the bike and a running watch for the run. Worked absolutely fine. Then I got a gift of a 920XT when I changed AG and since the 910XT wasn’t needed on my wrist any more, I decided to leave it on the bike. So I have a 910XT “bike computer” and a 920XT general purpose watch.
The added bulk of a quick release is annoying but not the end of the world and it works very well. Leaving the watch on your wrist throughout also works fine - just turn the screen inwards on your wrist while on the bike so you can see it without moving your head or hands (and also to reduce the aerodynamic impact).
I do prefer to have my data attached to the bike out in front of me but it’s certainly not essential.
I think you may have started to answer your own question by admitting that you leave the 910 on your bike while running with the 920 on your wrist. Your 910 happens to be a watch, but if it never leaves your bike, its not really a watch, but a bike computer with a strap.
As far as turning the watch face inwards…this may work for a few, but for me, my cockpit is so tight, with my forearms tight to the sides of my bta bottle, a bike computer on top of my bottle is the only layout that works.

No, I think I was pretty clear that what I meant was I’ve done it all three ways.
Watch on wrist all the timeWatch with quick release (on the bike and then moved to the wrist)Watch as dedicated bike computer & watch on wrist
It’s convenient to have a separate bike computer but it’s certainly not essential. As I think I explained, I only use both because I ended up with 2 watches due to getting a gift of the 920XT when my earlier model was still working fine.
I saw a video of John Cobb state that the effect of having a watch on while cycling eliminates/nullifies the benefit of a disc wheel. He has more wind tunnel time then me so I’ll take his word. He recommended turning the watch face inward if you have to wear it during the bike segment. I stopped wearing a watch for the swim and bike after my watch got kicked off during the swim of my first 70.3. Bike computer for the bike and a watch for the run.
I decided on it when I was shaving my arms. I was like I’m freaking shaving my arms because specialized has shown it will save me 20 seconds on a 40k TT. I figured wearing a watch has got to be similar to that!

It’s going to be very position, anatomy, and watch, dependent.
That’s both your position and the watch’s.
Also bear in mind that a bike mounted watch or computer is similarly going to have an aerodynamic impact. It could be anywhere from worse than watch on wrist to negligible.
Right, but anyone considering the negative effect on aerodynamics of a watch probably has their bike computer well hidden from the wind.
Perhaps - I’m just assuming if they haven’t considered the watch they may not have considered the mounted computer either. And if it’s a case of choosing either one or the other on the bike, the comparison is relevant.
