Unless, I’m auto-magically seeing something different than you are. My browser is showing $2000 for S2 Frameset and $1800 for P2 Frameset. A difference of $200.
isnt part of it that they aren’t at the same level in the series i.e.
s1 s2 s3 s5
p2 p3 p4 p?
I know the s1 & s3 are kinda gone but thats how I aligned the prices and models.
I’m talking about the COST of raw carbon fiber. I’m currently doing a design project with it and trust me, the cost differences between 3k/12k fiber aint that steep.unidirectional, maybe abit more expensive. certainly not expensive enough to warrant an 800 dllar difference for less than a kilo of carbon fiber. especially the prices you can get it at if you are mass producing. if you ahve a very specialized layup process then yes, labour costs might come in.
if you’re sprinkling magical pixie dust into your mould ( read, nano powders and what not, like the new rage is) then, MAYBE. but I don’t know what your magical pixie dust is. the cost is probably going into the huge expense of buying your mould ( moulds arent cheap!), and the labour costs of laying up good carbon.
