anyone notice the guy who went diagonal across the field at the start? sometimes I have problems swimming staight in open water, but I never got off track at the start.

Exactly my thoughts … why cant they treat this as if its a real sporting event, rather than a huan interest story. i watched the entire thing, but was bored by the melodrama. as if the race isn’t dramatic enough?!

I’m wondering what we DIDN’T see. The show was sheduled for 2 hours, but only went 90 min after NASCAR went 25 minutes long.
actually, when they showed the swim start, one guy immediatly cut left in front of several people, swimming diagonal to everyone else.
one month after the fact and they couldn’t edit this any better? Here’ Nina Kraft, kicking everyone’s ass, what a performance. Oh, by the way, she later tested positive for a banned substance,and admitted it, Badnmann wins her fourth.

Trautwig does it all from a studio in NY after the telecast has been edited. Not so much fun.

What’s wrong w/ you people? Al T is fine, has a good dramatic voice. It’s what they make him say that probably irks you.
I thought NBC did what they are supposed to… make it appeal to the masses. IMH actually IS more of a human interest story than a race. If I could change anything, I’d have wanted to see more of the age groupers featured, and a breakdown of their times, etc.
I didn’t see the broadcast. But learning that Trautwig was on it just makes me happy that I missed it. He is just so awful. (Though he does have a great voice) I know he doesn’t write the stuff but still. Ughh. He was painful at the Tour, completely painful.
No, Charmichael’s appearances, and more than 2 minutes or Paul Sherwin (though he seems such a nice guy I feel guilty saying this) were painful.
Are you saying that you like Trautwig? If so then you deserve a medal. You’ll be the first person I’ve come across that does. Ich, just thinking about his broadcasts makes me shudder. Awful!!
