Why did the French and German teams protest before this morning's stage of the Tour?

I just read a blurb on the cyclingnews site about the French and German squads performing a sit-in protest before today’s stage. What exactly were they protesting - the recent doping scandal? the French labs inability to keep test results from L’Equipe? What?

from velonews:

began with a riders’ protest, from teams expressing frustration at yesterday’s news of a positive doping test from Alexander Vinokourov. The teams were also angry that the Tour is being led by a man many regard as suspicious.

Ironic that the Germans would participate considering Sinkewitz. So the riders think the Chicken is foul (forgive the pun) - that must be a fun peloton to race 218.5 K in.

I’m failing to see the irony.

Germans can’t protest the actions of other Germans?

Or even funnier or sader, Moreni and Cofidis sitting there in protest and after the stage it is announced that Moreni tested positive.
Yikes.

H

who cares about the dope problem
they should just flick the chicken
problem over

it was a race I few years ago now it is a witch hunt

Thom.

See, in this case, I see the irony =)
