You guys allways want to know why Cervelo is praised here and on other forums…i’ll tell you why…
A few months ago i was looking to purchase an older Cervelo frame and i was looking for info about it…so i emailed Cervelo and a day latter they relay all the info that i needed or asked about…but life happens and i was unable to purchase the frame…
In the mean time i get a screaming deal on a Javelin frame and i email them for info even sent them a pic just in case…nothing hard just BB size etc…after 2 weeks, not even a automated responce…is this normal??? or is this just the way they deal with there product/customers???
It’s really to bad…they have some very cool products and i was even considering buying one of there new frames next season…later, Dean
Sometimes Cervelo is great, other times they are among the poorest in responsiveness. This isn’t a huge market where firms have people standing by 24/7. Thus, you will always get highly variable service from all but perhaps Trek (and only because of their size).
Try dealing w/ Colnago. I hear that can be a real effort!
Gee, I called Javelin about the Dolce kids road bike. The guy was very friendly, answered my questions and told me that he could set up the bike for my daughter, he just needed her measurements.
It’s amazing how much some people rely on e-mail. It says alot about our culture when people don’t even consider using the telephone anymore.
THis may be a bad time of year to get people from the small companies…Eurobike, IM Madison, other races around the world, and soon Innerbike will all be taking everyone from their offices and out on the sales trail.
I have had great and good support from Cervelo, nothing but great from ABG. I will race GFT on my P3…but will be on the Softride FAST at Lake Placid next year (Softride has never had anything but great support for me).
I would have concidered calling but it´s a little tough trying to describe a frame over the phone…besides the person you may be talking to could have no idea about the model your asking about…
I will email first then phone if i need the info and don´t get a responce…remember emailing is a service that is offered by the company…
I am in no way bashing the company…there products are excellent…
Well i broke down and called…just as i suspected, there 1-800 number is US only…so i bucked up and called there direct line…the guy who answered the call was nice and honest enough to tell me that the frame was before his time so he had to ask for help, no problem…
The call was helpfull and i was able to get the answers i needed…sort of…now i know they made the frame in 700 and 650 c wheeled versions…man…
But they did give me the answer and they did have someone available to respond to the call…good on them!!! later, Dean
