As the title says. I need a new kit after 6 years of weekly abuse. It pulled double duty as a cycling kit and triathlon race kit. Plus it was FREE! Sugoi made the Javelin kits back in the day. I really liked the material and fit.
All the stuff now seems to be over-engineered and ugly as sin.
Do you guys have reco’s on good looking kits?
Also, Bay Area folks, any place other than Sports Basement to get one? I’m in the East Bay.
Wait a minute…you LIKE the orange Javelin kit and you cant find anything from DeSoto that you do like? Are you color blind? Do you wear a lot of flanel and Croc’s?
hahaha. Got me! I didn’t care for the color. What I meant to say was that I did like the fit.
But it was free and all I really knew at the time. I do prefer orange over a royal blue or bright red.
Like Orca’s 226 kit, but the material doesn’t seem as nice.
Check out the Kwami stuff, as nice as Sugoi used to be and a bit better.

I own a desoto kit and while it works ok, I don’t think it will be winning beauty contests. Even the Kiwami stuff that pops in the ads looks like maternity wear from the 50s. And they are French; they should know better. Orca used to look kind of slick, but their designs recently have been a bit plain. The only trisuit that looks really cool is that Pearl Izumi thing.
A kit that looked nice was the AUS team stuff in 2001; really attractive dark green/gold/silver. Another nice kit (cycling) was the Castelli Italian national squad stuff around the same time.
Stick with Sports Basement. Can’t beat them on price or selection in the Bay Area.
As for suits, Orca and 2XU make some pretty unassuming black and white ones. Personally I like the De Soto Forzas, but the design isn’t to everyone’s taste.
Reminds me of the Slim Goodbody suit I’m gonna get for Halloween.
