Ok so i saved up and bought a real “tri” bike after 4 years of riding a road bike with clipons and ff seat post. I can’t get comfortable on the new ride. Bout 200 miles on the new ride and I just can’t find the power for long sustained efforts of 21-23 mph. I have friends that have told me im a “masher” not a “spinner” and it is easier to produce in tall gears on a slacker seat angle. I have what i feel to be a proper fit on both bikes. FISTED both times. New bike is a large QR lucero old bike was specalized alliez. More time, slack up the seat on the new ride? I’m starting to get frustrated with my new purchase.
Just a guess but in changing your angle and position you may be bringing in a few new muscles that are not used to it. I’d stick with it a while.
IMHO- give it some time and try not to be frustrated. I think maybe between 1000-2000 mile should give a real indication of how things are going. It does take time, so be patient. Adaptation comes slowly…
one photo of your bike and i’ll bet you i can answer your question.
you see, ‘riding steep’ only works well if your torso (and bars) are very low.
200 miles? Did you drop a zero there or something? Give it a real shot. Wait a few more weeks before passing judgement.
