North San Diego county, Camp Pendleton here. We had a flicker of power about 10 minutes ago, just enough to get my kids excited and then let then down.
I feel somewhat powerless at times…

.
Kids are asleep. Wife went to go visit a friend that just had a baby.
I outside in the car listening to the football game and drinking beer. My phone needed a charge, so I am out front charging and Slowtwitching.
It was kinda nice , no TV , A/C , PC … candles in the patio till 10 pm playing with the cats .
At least it cooled down from yesterday .
I think we were out 3:40 pm to 1:00 AM , they said maybe no power for 24 -30 hours early on .
Now the outage is going to be a political football .
Sounds like someone threw the wrong switch .
Looks like ours came back on around midnight. It was nice, in hindsight I should’ve pitched the tent in the back yard let the kids sleep out there. Next time.
Oddly enough there is no school and the base is shutdown except for essential personnel only. Might be a good day to hit the beach.
Man. I want to lose power in San Diego.
When I lived in St Louis there were two times when we lost power for more than 4 days. The first, during a blistering summer heat wave, 100F. The other, after a massive ice storm, 25F.
Oh to have 75* and sunny weather with no power. Nice excuse to hit the beach or go out for a bike ride:).
you couldn’t have paid me to ride yesterday. Total traffic grid lock and close to a million pissed off drivers, that’s a formula for getitng run over.
Power returned for me some time around midnight. Bustling streets and a starry sky made for an interesting run last night.
I just read the San Diego area beaches are closed today due to a huge sewage spill, there goes any idea of taking the kids to the beach.
