No positive tests in the day and age of TESTING? If you don’t think blood doping / performace drugs were just as much in the 80’s then you know very little about endurance sports. The testing just wasn’t there (and know I’m not saying LeMond cheated).

Wasn’t it LeMond that couldn’t keep up with the leaders in the '89 tour until he got a couple of magical “iron” shots? Kind of strange that it takes normal people weeks to recover from anemia via iron supplements, but LeMond went from pack fodder to dominant in just a day…
