Who wants to defend pope Francis?

Someone please explain the brilliance of this move. It eludes me.

Ignorance?

Completely indefensible and worthy of absolute ridicule and disdain. No room for credibility, respect, or integrity.

Even their full-of-grace New Testament Jesus had strong words for people like this: “If anyone causes one of these little ones–those who believe in me–to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.”

It gives him a chance to redeem himself. That’s got to be it.

You seem to be assuming that Geisinger was working on his own and not under orders from those above him.

If you removed all the officials of the Catholic Church who knew about abuse and did nothing or not very much the offices would be pretty empty. These problems went from the bottom to the very top of the church hierarchy.

First, it’s illegal to follow illegal orders. If your boss told you to harbor a child raper from the police would you? I wouldn’t

Second, I agree many in the church knew. It’s amazing people continue to give them money and kids.

First, I agree. And no I would not. But I also left the Catholic Church when I left my parents house at 18.

Second, the sense of community that people feel with their church is what keeps them coming back. They will say they hold the people responsible but still think the church and religion as a whole is good. I’m not one of those people, but that is what I have been told. By one of my good female friends that I do not have a desire to have sex with.

Bingo. Doesn’t justify the appointment however.

Impossible (unless you caught the gays)
