Who uses a pad over their seat?

you know like the q-roo flitie, or desoto…

i tried one and I ended up sliding in the seat too much , at least with the azoto.

maybe it 'll work on the trimatic i’m using now - that seat could use a little more cushioinng

Yup - I use the QR seat cover for longer, say 1/2 IM, IM or century rides. I slid around a bit as well when using it over my Azoto.

I now do:

Azoto only for OLY races, Fizik Arione for all training on the road bike. I put the QR cover on the Azoto for long rides (65 miles +) and on my Airione for centuries or longer only. I find the Arione with the cover VERY comfy and may switch to this for some racing this year on my tri bike.

I use the Mr. Flitie on my Fizik Arione for longer rides and races, and it works fine. It definitely adds cushion to an excellent, but hard, saddle. It is no substitute for chamois butter, though.

I use one on my Azoto. If I ride too long or too far back on my saddle, the stitching on the saddle starts getting annoying. I find that the cover eliminates all this rubbing and on race day adds just a hint of height to my seat which hopefully compensates for the smaller pad in my tri shorts vs. my cycling shorts.

I used to. Even put one on my Koobi Tri by habit. Darned if I didn’t find out the Koobi Tri is better without the cover…thanks to a recommendation from a fellow Koobi rider. It’s a really good seat for the more forward positions, sans extra padding.

I use the QR one on my Aspide Tri saddle and found it to be very comfortable. Tried it without the pad and could really tell the difference.

I use a QR pad on all my bikes. I actually find the reduced friction the best part of it. It doesn’t “stick” to my bike shorts and cause them to bunch up when I shift around on the saddle. The added padding helps a little, but I’ve got plenty of padding on the body side…
