As I emerge from the reclined front seat of my car and reface reality, I have to know: Am I alone? I can’t seem to make it through one full day consisting of 1) a 1-2 hour morning workout; 2)a 8-9 hour work day, and 3)1-2 hour evening workout, without having to nap during the middle of the day. I don’t drink coffee, but still…How do the rest of you guys do it? I’ve got a wife but no kids; no real reason I shouldn’t be able to cruise through a 14 hour period without havning to climb under my desk for 40 winks ala George Costanza. How do these CEOs and the likes train for IMs?
I wouldn’t mine a nap. My much better half is doing that at this hour.
I try to take a nap everyday as I’m at work at 6a and off at 2p. I then nap for about 30 minutes and then drag myself out for a workout! NAPS RULE!
I need a quick wank everyday at 14:00. Problem is I am in the office. So I do at 18:00-18:30 when I am back at home. Today I did not have time to do it.
I nap while driving…very time efficient.
I do it every day when I ride the metro, on those days I get a quick 20 - 30 minute nap on the way home from work. It can be a life saver, without a nap I would be a tired, grumpy human being, with it I’m just grumpy and much easier to deal with.

I agree, there is no way to be successful in both areas, I was having this same discussion the other day. To be really sucessful in most professions, it requires going above and beyond (and usually includes lots of extra hours).
I guess I’ll go refill my coffee mug now and get back to work.
I so wish most every day that I could nap at work - and really I probably could - but sooner or later I would get caught - I do enough goofing off - just think nappin is pushing it too far - but may cross teh line next spring while I’m in the big push for IMCdA

I don’t have naps, I work 8-5 also, get up at 4:45 to swim and stuff, ride at night…lights out at 9:30 everynight…still tired in the afternoon. As soon as 5 hits though, I always get my second wind.
Yes, I nap and I’m proud of it. During the school year I shut my office door and check out for 15-20 minutes. If I still feel tired at that point, I’m usually overtraining and I cut back for a day.
It is a great source of pride to me that I am known in my family for the ability to nap under any circumstance! I would like to write more, but I’m on the verge of nodding off for a few minutes.

I take a half hour nap after eating lunch every day.
Man I need a nap soooo bad it isn’t even funny. Last time I had a nap was maybe a year ago, when I was weaning my daughter, just before going back to work f/t. I miss napping so much. I am actually bailing early on work today so I can ride then hit the hay early, not quite a nap, but I hope to be in bed by 8:30
I usually train in the morning and at lunch. I find that the lunch session helps stave off the nap monsters. On days where I train in the morning only, by 2pm I am wiped and need sleep.
