These are nice. They are a tad longer than the boyshorts and competely cover your butt (I’m going to take a wild guess that she might like her butt to be covered)…but not too much else.
I’m not feeling DeSoto on this one. My wife wouldn’t run around town in the boy shorts (and I wouldn’t want her to) and the other pair does cover more… but no. I want something more like this:

I’ve worn the UnderArmour ones (similar idea) for a marathon and most of my long runs, and sadly enough to the grocery store.
Not too offensive, but same concept.
MY fave ones (and P’s faves) are from Champion. I actually found them in Cayman Islands about 2 yrs ago.

Does your wife have skinny legs? If she’s on the curvier side, I’d go with the RRS 3" inseam. Same look and will probably have less of a tendency to creep up. If she has skinny thighs the short ones may work fine.
What length does she want? RaceReady makes some nice ones in Dryline fabric. They’re about the same length as bike shorts.

I wear low waist and I can’t stand wearing high waist anything. I would assume that it is the same in reverse.

What is it with people and their delusions about their bodies? I realize that I’m getting older, I’m skinny, and I do not have a body that chicks would want to check out. I get it. I can handle the truth. Sadly, some others can’t. Those are the folks wearing too-tight and too-small shorts, thinking they make their asses look great. As to the DeSoto shorts in question, I know maybe one female that could pull those off, and she’s 14-years-old and weighs 95 pounds. (She’s a friend’s daughter and, no, I wouldn’t want to see her in them; that’s sick.)

I have had kids, and though I am not overweight I am NOT skinny. short shorts are just NOT happening. they will NOT make my ass look good. It wants to be COVERED.
