QRgirl,
Your first link doesn’t work. THe video seems to have been pulled for some reason or another.
The second video (Sergio Mendes performing Waters of March) was pretty good. Catchy tune. I have no idea what they were saying though as it all seemed to be in spanish or portugese or something.
I have never been to a Trader Joe’s so I can’t speak one way about that. I hear they have some pretty good things in the way of prepared foods. Yes?
By the way, what does one have to do with the other?

Once you live near a TJ’s, it’s hard to imagine life without one…just for sake of their frozen and wine section. But my wife and I have also become addicted to the breads, sauces, cookies…on and on and on. And the prices on things like milk and salad can’t be beat.
Best grocery store ever! We never go to Whole Foods anymore.
i love it, i love it!
Am I the only one that does not like them? I lived close to one all my life and can only think a couple of times I been in there.
One visit was enough for me. Overpriced yuppy food.

Come on! $2 wine is not yuppie food! They have a lot of good deals on stuff. It is one store that caters to yuppies as well as cheap bastards like me. Sadly, the nearest one is 150 miles away.
Maybe this link will work:

You are probably confusing TJ’s with Whole Foods(Whole Paycheck). Two totally different ends of the cost spectrum.
Try the new link or rruff’s.
The link is a homemade TJ’s commercial, set to the same tune as Waters of March. Some guy filmed it with his blackberry. It’s cute and clever.
Wow, that guy is pretty passionate about Trader Joe’s. I think we need one of them in Howell, MI. I would probably shop there, if only to see hot moms in their yoga clothes!

Another thought… my impression of Trader Joe’s is that besides having cool stuff, some of the items are cheaper than you’d have to pay at Walmart for a comparable item.
There is a chain in the NW that has awesome cheap bulk foods… even organic… can’t remember the name… but I’d love to have one of those nearby.
It is actually insane how the “brand name” crap essentially monopolizes our food industry in many places. Trader Joe’s and the other store I can’t remember, simply buys from the source with less marketing BS and expense, and can provide a better product at less cost.
Yeah, I’ve started buying much of my groceries at TJ’s because it’s actually cheaper there than the other grocery stores. Of all the local stores, they sell the cheapest fruits and vegetables by FAR. They’re usually much better in quality, too.
Plus, most of it comes from the smaller, more local producers. I would rather support them than the huge conglomerates that mass-produce crap food and sell it for ridiculously high prices.
Who doesn’t love Trader Joe’s?!
Apparently, robc doesn’t.
and no HFCS in any of their stuff.
I hit there about once a week. Cereals are good prices, and they have a good selection of nuts and dried fruits.
My kids love their breakfast bars. They make a much better snack than cookies.
