Does anyone have any feedback on the difference between the Tacx Fortius trainer and the Tacx I-Magic trainer?
The difference is obviously the price but what is the difference between the 2 braking systems?
The Fortius having the motor braking
The I-Magic having the electromagnetic braking
Electromagnetic. Is that the same as the load generator on the Computrainer?? I own a CT.

I am planning on purchasing this for Mr. TGP… he keeps hogging my CT.

I just went throuh this and bought the I-Magic. I didnt go with the braking system of the Fortius.
The Fortius system uses a motor to simulate spinning feely down hill, and adds SIGNIFIACT resistance while climbing. You really only need this if you are going to HAMMER yourself on the simulator.
The I-Magic still adds resistance while climbing, but doesn spin down the hill. Your speed stays constant,and you pedal with the same effort even though the images show you descending.
For the software, I can use both the Fortius VR programs, the catalyst (your custom program), or real live video. These three options remain contstant between the Fortius and the I-Magic. The real live video is AWESOME! Its like riding in a movie, except you pick the rides, like stages of the TDF! Very cool!
I bough it as it makes boring idoor training more life like and exciting. Now I need to buy a second one for Mrs. TriGirl!
