I am starting my third year with Team Zoot (Mid-Atlantic). At the 2023 Eagleman I was part of another team, they talked a good thing but come race day the “Team Comradery” just was not there. After the race The Mid-Atlanitc Capt (The Iron Dentist) invitied me to their tent. I had an amanzing time and met some good people that i have been able to train and race with since.
Something that has not been mentionted yet is for all Three Worlds qualified athletes Zoot gave or is giving a FREE P1x Tri Suit specifically designed for the individual race
Has this changed for this coming year? The past two years the garmin discount was 35%. Other than the Zoot clothing discount, the Garmin 35% was one of the few that I thought were really worthwhile!
Maybe also worth noting we get the odd extra discount offer. For example last month we were given a temporary 25% discount code for HED, I used it for a set of Vanquish Pro’s.
As long as the store is open for initial orders, you can still join. Purchasing your race suit, you will provide your e-mail, and thats how we know you are officially part of the Team.
If you like Zoot stuff, you get 40% off. There is also a one per year 25% off of Garmin stuff you might like. Limited to tri related Garmin equipment afaik. Otherwise it’s more/less an open door, you apply… buy a kit or something that you might race in, you’re in for the season. They have some other good vendor discounts but nothing earth shattering.
Like any tri team with a group of people there is a community aspect to it as well. How good/bad that is will depend on your local people, races attended, etc. YMMV

Honestly, I prefer the P1 over the P1x. The upper part of the x is pretty fragile. It’s a super thin material, and just cut off at the arms (I guess to make it more aero without any seams, same with the legs). It has no “zipper garage” so it irritates my neck a bit over time. Good for TT’s though. For triathlons I keep using the P1.
Another thing comes to mind…
The lower part of the x is cut significantly higher than the P1. So if you need to hit the porta loo, and unzip the top, it’s extremely difficult to … get business done … without taking off the whole upper part of the suit. With the P1 you can just pull the lower piece down enough.
Thanks for that… I ended up buying the P1X and did contact them asking about the zipper garage. They now have a flap that serves as zipper top barrier but not a garage… supposedly makes it easier to grab and provides protection.
I guess I’ll know in a few months and appreciate the feedback. Zoot makes pretty great kits and like that they’re improving kits constantly.
question about the QR discount - is that on all bikes/gear from QR? I think I missed out on the deadline to sign up this year but interested in signing up next year and potentially purchasing a new TT bike as well
The % of discount depends on the frame and the group set you select. It can vary somewhat. You have to reach out to them directly as a Team member, they verify you are on the roster, you build out your spec, and they can give you pricing.
