Who has the hottest bike - II

Your mountain bike weighs three pounds less than my road bike, bastard.

How much does the dragonfly weigh, without the funktified bottle on it?

Could the SRM brain look any more outdated? It might be a bigger eyesore on the dragonfly than the bottle.

Nevertheless, the dragonfly is way hot.

My thoughts exactly…too funny
.

Dude, you had me at Dragonfly.

How do you like the Hed Alps?

You race a mountain bike with a rigid fork?

Same brand road bike & TT bike as me, but I’m a notch down on the food chain, Tetra Pro & P2K. Although the P3 is a great bike, the Calfee wins the unique/conversation piece award.

Hi Jens,

The Dragonfly built up nicely! Glad to see Craig was able to get your SRM to work as well. Did it take much modification?

Christopher

Thanks. He just shaved a mm or two off the BB lug, which is so beefy it was no problem.

Wow!

Lot’s of REALLY clean bikes here. Do these bikes ever get ridden?

The only time my bike ever looked like that was on race morning!!

Fleck

Thanks. I think the Dragonfly weighs around 16. The wheels & tires definitely add a bit. With some 303 tubulars and lightweight skewers, the bike would probably be under 15.

The Alps are fast wheels, but they go out of true too much and it seems like the Hed factory guys are the only ones capable of truing them.

I only use the Mtb for hillclimbs – and it’s great for that. I’m using it for a climb this week where I’ve calculated that each ounce costs 2 seconds.

It’s pre-suspension vintage (1990, I think) ; I don’t think I could put a suspension fork on it if I wanted to.

Here’s my TT steed

Thanks to Tom D for the frame.

jens, i declare, you are a master. if you’d like to never hear the word no again, tell your wife this:

“come here Pretty and sit down. you work too hard, so let me rub your feet while relax. you must make all other women jealous–you can do everything and you’re gorgeous. what did I do to deserve you.”

now you know the secret. so, use it wisely.

I agree with Fleck…these bike look way too clean. In my training group, the guys with the dirtiest bikes are the fastest cause they have no time to clean due to mega training.

Looks a little slack???

I know Jens and his wife and all the men on Slowtwitch should be Jealous! she’s a keeper!!

Dan…

Nice bikes but the question can you push these babies

Maybe this will answer Fleck, et al. too…

Hee, hee, don’t get me started. I’m not modest, but more like one of those characters in the Iliad, hollering lyric poetry about past exploits at their enemies across the river.

The Calfee goes up Old La Honda Road < 17 min. The Mtb does it <18 – with 2.0 inch tires. (if you’re from the SF area, this might be meaningful).

As for the P3: 1st Place in the Oregon State TT Championships and the Bronze Medal in the Masters Worlds TT (Edmonton, Canada) this year.

If you have any doubts, I encourage you to join me for a ride sometime.

Nice build of the P3SL …

~56 P3C, SRM/Dura ace w/Rotor Q-rings, HED aerobars w/Oval extensions/carbon, Zipp 999s w/ti skewers and conti comp 22’s, SBC Ti saddle/Alias, Deda stem, all Dura Ace 10 sp, SPDSL pedals, 3rd brake lever

So do we meet up somewhere between SF and Edmonton?

I agree, I like my bikes like I like my men, down & dirty with me riding on top!

Yeehaw!

But that dragonfly is amazing, I have to change my panties now.
