IS that the thing that is going on in Tuscon this weekend???
IF so, I know Dan and Paul Thomas are going, Dan is one of the speakers, and Paul is working a Kuota booth…
Yes. I am planning to catch Dan’s presentation.
I was in Tucson last weekend and the weather was pretty nice…hoping this weekend is perfect! Planning to do Gate’s Pass again on Sunday am.
Hoping to meet up with the folks from Kestrel, too.
Surely others are headed that way…I gotta have somebody to talk to at the party Friday night.

From the looks of if the weather will likely be nicer this weekend than last weekend. I have plans to run Sabino Canyon Sunday morning but might be persuaded to ride Gates again instead. If I ride, I’ll gladly volunteer to be sweeper again. ![]()
Oops, almost forgot…I will be at TriFest this weekend, looking forward to meeting everyone.

hey…
i’m new to the tucson area – wondering where gates pass is, how long of a ride it is and if i can join in???
kinda’ lonely.
training for IM AZ, getting sick of riding solo (got a puncture tire the last time i rode mt. lemmon, didn’t have my repair kit – literally stranded).
thanks,
Sunny and 80 degrees today…whoohooo finally de frosting from riding up north in the winter - there is a 7am mount lemmon ride on Friday morning which is open…leaving from Trisport.com…plus i believe a yet to be determined ride on Sat am leaving same time and place…
I will be swinging by the expo on either Sat. or Sun. in the afternoon after I get done training.
I’ll be there working the camp. Friday ride at 7a should be fun. Giving a couple talks on Sat/Sun on triathlon specific swim training and possibly a powermeter chat as well.
See ya there! ![]()
We could run Sabino on Saturday…I have a fit scheduled for Sat morning. That new bike ain’t right yet and I would rather get it right before I ride Gate’s.
If we didn’t thank you enough last week…THANKS again for being the best sweeper ever!!!
You going to the party Friday night?
G
I can’t make the Friday am ride as I am getting into PHX a little before noon. But I am open for a ride or run either Sat or Sun morning. Of course you are welcome to join in.
The schedule says Gate’s Pass, on the west side of town, on Sunday morning. Like I said, I am flexible but want to hit as many seminars as possible and get that darned bike fit.
Another busy weekend in Tucson! But then it’s back to Dallas for awhile. ![]()

“I am open for a ride or run either Sat or Sun morning.”
i’ll ride the friday morning ride, and probably sat morning as well.
I have to work the whole weekend (sometimes it sucks being an ICU nurse) but I will be riding the Friday morning ride and might stop in either before or after work. I should be there for the Team TriSports.com photo.
I hope to see this weekend Gail, sorry I had to miss your training camp last weekend, I was up in Phoenix racing all weekend. I heard Eric lead an adventurous ride for the quicker folks.

I wish I was going.

Chrissy, Gates Pass is at the west end of Speedway. It’s a great ride but it’s a narrow road and there is no bike lane. There are some good routes to get there and either go over the pass form the front side (Speedway) or climb up the back side coming from either Kinney Rd via Ajo Rd or Kinney from Sandario Rd.
There are lots of groups here in Tucson to ride with if you are tired of riding solo. I ride with a couple of other guys 3-4 times a week. If you have a road bike, you might want to check out “the Shootout”, it’s a fast paced 60 mile ride that starts at the U of A every Saturday morning. Lots of fast guys and gals in that ride, lots of pros will jump in when they are in Tucson.
Drop me a PM or email if you need help with new rides or any questions about Tucson. Emjoy the weather, it’s great this time of year.

I’ll be there and so will Steve (he’s the importanter one, I’m more filler at the booth space). He is giving a presentation Saturday. We’ll have demo wheels for people to take out. If I can get my bike together in time I’ll go on the Fri AM ride too, and I guess the Sunday morning one. It better be warm, it was 15 riding in today but that beats the -0s we had to deal with last week.
Yeah, I was hoping to see you, too. Had to settle with talking bad about you to your clubmates. ![]()
We don’t call him Eric anymore, he’s just that hammerhead! We do have some stories!
It was a great weekend…we are already planning for next year. Think you can pencil us in?
G
If anyone is interested I will be running 1 hour at Yetman Trail (Tucson Mountains) on Saturday morning. PM me for directions to the parking lot. I am game for any time in the A.M. that works for the rest. Should be nice and warm…high for Sat is suppose to be 82!!!

.
It should be a great weekend. Eric is not too bad, you just need to learn how to ride with him. We are planning our assault on Mt Lemmon for tomorrow. I’ll keep an eye out for you this weekend.
Safe travels,
~Tucker
I just arrived. Much nicer then Philly! Left there at 4am and it was 18 degrees. I’ll be setting up at the Expo if anyone wants to stop by and say hi. Make sure to stop by our booth and meet our newly signed athlete Pip Taylor. The official signing will be tomorrow over breakfast. Pip will be 1 of 3 females representing Kestrel this year. 2 others will be announced soon.
Make sure to bring your resumes with you, I’m also looking for AG athletes to support.
Kestrel will be set up inside, not outside. I only was able to bring a handful of our bikes so I’ll have very limited test riding this weekend.
Free goodies to any Kestrel owner’s so stop by the booth and say hi.
