It’s probably seasonal allergies. Not kidding, this year I thought I had a real bad cold, chest and nasal congestion. Turned out to be allergies.
Thanks but I don’t think so, unless seasonal allergies are pasted from a sick preschooler. In all seriousness, I was tested a few years ago for every allergy known to man for a mysterious illness (turned out to be GERD). The tests showed that I was the most non-alergic person they’ve ever tested!
Going on day 5 or 6, sucking down lots of tea. More annoying than anything else, but I have a TT this sunday I really want to do well at.
I’m feeling ya bud, hang in there! See if you can just spin you legs really easy on the trainer just to keep the muscles going. By Sunday it would be something like day 12, surely the virus will relent by then (and have run its course).
Maybe I should have re-titled my post “Cry Like a Little Biaatch Here”, I had no idea so many were suffering like me. Misery loves company…keep them coming!
Its awesome. Still managed to race once already since it settled in for me (going on 3 weeks…I am an early adopter). Can’t blame my body for not shaking it though. Nothing tylenol cold and flu severe can’t hide anyway.
Has anyone gone on a antibiotic for treatment yet. I suspect that its viral and antibiotic won’t help but just curious. I’m on day 10, the cough is the exact same and I’m still getting the night sweats.
I am on Day 7 today. Feeling a little better everyday now…but WOW, that really kicked the $hit out of me. Its been many many years since I had an illness like this one!
Day 10 here. 3rd day on Biaxin and Medrol pack. Feeling MUCH better and I can breathe again. 8 month old still fighting it off and so is husband. At least it won’t be 100 degrees today, only 90.
I don’t think this is true influenza, anyone get a fairly good explanation from their doc as to what pathogen is causing so much disease? I’d guess adenovirus.

Day 11 for me, it moved from my lower lungs to an upper lung thing - DM cough suppressant works for me, to stop the coughing enough to fall asleep. Agree on the night sweats - general sweats, actually. Just walking around is leaving me winded. Mornings are terrible, too. It’s going away, tho’
Today is day 8 for me - just can’t seem to shake it. It’s all in my upper chest. Anyone else want to share their misery?
My DS–6 yrs. old. Has asthma, so it hits him HARD. Went to his specialist yesterday, and came within a whisker of being admitted to the horse-pistol, but thankfully, was sent home.

yes, talked doc into trying the anti’s, even though they said probably viral. they were right, no real help at all. Been 3 weeks for me
I had that fucker from July 2 right through to August 10 thsi summer. Before that I can’t recall every being sick over the warm months here in the NorthEast. Really screwed up the nice run fitness i had coming out of June and buggered up my plans for a fast half marathon at the end of August. Never saw a doc over it but my friend who is a doc did say that while summer colds/infections are rare they take a looong time to clear up. That was sure the case for me and sounds like you are headed that way unfortunately. Good news , I 'm feeling strong and fit again with a Nov race on the sched
Bronchitis / mild pneumonia here - had the workup this afternoon, including the chest films.
7-day course of Biaxin, an extra-strength Robitussun w/ codeine in case I can’t sleep and an Advair puffer for the wheezing if I find myself short of breath…
Doc says I should start to feel better in a couple of days… can’t wait… blech…
