Today is day 8 for me - just can’t seem to shake it. It’s all in my upper chest. Anyone else want to share their misery?

Sigh, me too… Day 10, and still going strong. It seems to have migrated from my lower lungs to my upper chest…just breathing sucks, mornings are a bear as I cough up bits and pieces of my lungs like a 90-yr old man with Consumption… going on losing 2 weeks of training, just as I was getting back into a good routine…
Whaaaaaaaaa…
simply awful.
If you haven’t already, try removing all wheat, sugar, and dairy from your diet.
I missed almost 2 full weeks of training.

ooh… sounds like a reason to have a steak for supper! Thanks!
had it, got rid of it in 2 weeks, promptly got a brand new one 2 days later. now up to a full month of sniffling and snorting. i had no idea that the human body could produce such huge amounts of snot.

I’m on about day 5. It’s amazing how much snot can come out of my head and chest! It’s taking it’s toll on the training but thankfully it’s the beginning of off-season.
why?
Because we are all allergic to wheat, sugar, and dairy.
You can read about sugar here http://www.thedoctorwithin.com/sugar/Sugar-The-Sweet-Thief-of-Life/

Well, I’ve got the Chicago marathon in less than two weeks. I was able to squeeze in a few crappy runs last week just to keep sane. Luckily, most of my hard training was completed. This was the EXACT same situation in April when I was building toward Boston…just my luck. I guess its part living with a preschooler and part tiptoeing the trained_peeking_injured_sick type-rope.
Fruits, vegetables and protein, that’s how we are supposed to eat. Minimize everything else.

X2. Afraid I’m going to cough up a lung at my next meeting.
Same here - I’m only on day 5 - this blows.
Day 3 here, turned into a nasty cough. May need to wear a “caution, this bike snot rockets often” at Poconos 70.3 this weekend.
Interesting reading… I wonder how much of it is true today?
watch out for secondary bacterial respiratory infections and (surprise!) Whooping Cough.
my parents somehow managed to get whooping cough even though they generally avoid crowded places(like costco, walmart, etc.)
they’ve been hacking and cough for a third week now. my mom says she’s pulled a rib from coughing so much.
Don’t take anybodies word for it. Try it for yourself. Eliminate flour, wheat, and dairy for a month, and see how you feel.
It won’t be easy, but you will be surprised with the results.
Had it since 2 days after 70.3 Worlds. 3 days of feeling like absolute hell then felt better but still haven’t been able to clear all the crap from my chest.
It’s probably seasonal allergies. Not kidding, this year I thought I had a real bad cold, chest and nasal congestion. Turned out to be allergies.
