Anyone know what the water temp is at White Lake? The half is on 4/12. Last year it was 54 degrees and with the sudden wind blowing just before the race the water was very choppy. Hoping for some “kinder” conditions this year.
My backyard pool in Charlotte was 61 yesterday :-). Maybe they can put a solar cover on the lake?
With the mid 80’s we are having right now, you might get 65-68 if we don’t get a cold snap next week. Shouldn’t be anywhere near mid 50’s though.
The marina says 60 right now, although last year it turned out that they were reporting about 8-10 degrees too high. It should warm up some this week, but temperatures are looking cooler for next week. I’m not counting on anything warmer than low-mid 60s. Anything more is just a bonus. Last year I forgot all about the temperature as soon as I started swimming though because of that wind. I think it actually became a greater concern than the temperature…

Not putting much faith in the marina website as I’ve checked it for the past three weeks and it always reports 60 degrees. Guessing that they don’t update their website.
Yeah, that wouldn’t surprise me. 60 seems reasonable for today with the warm weather we have had this week, but a week or two ago there’s no way it could have been that warm. It seems like they had it stuck right around 60 last year as well.

After about 200m the temperature was the least of my concerns, ha.
