2,000 are signed up for the race at this point. The athlete guide and new run course maps are posted on the web site at www.steelheadtriathlon.com.
We are looking at moving the tranisition back to the large grassy area in the park. (this area was used in years 1-3 of the race) This will allow the early arriving athlete the opportunity to park next to the transition.
We will not be bussing athletes to the swim start this year! Athletes will walk along the beach to the swim start - 1 mile north or south of the transition.
If anyone is looking to a great tune-up race for Steelhead - the Firecracker Triathlon will take place on Sunday, July 1st at the same race site as Steelhead. Go to www.firecrackertri.com for race information and to sign up for the event.
I you have any questions on either race, place feel free to e-mail me at tomziebart@aol.com
All these moves are positives! I actually enjoy the 1 mile walk to the swim start. Good way to warm-up and just ease into the race. Best wishes on all the race prep. Look forward to my 5th Steelhead. I think I remember you saying…that my 10th in a row would be free…does that deal still stand?
Is registration closed yet or is it still open? I couldn’t find the race cap on your site and I didn’t see any announcements that registration had closed so I was still hopeful that maybe my girlfriend and I could still sneak in. Thanks.
The run course is mostly flat. There is one hill about one mile from T2 that is < 1/4 mile long and moderate grade. The good news is that you get to go down it also.
