Hey, pretty much starting from ground zero. my first pair of shoes were specialized road shoes and Ive been using old a$$ nike tri shoes for the past 2 years…honestly if they were so ugly and beat up i wouldnt have a problem. They fit and feel fine but just looking to upgrade. Any opions on what brand/models you like or have good reviews. I like the LG Tri 300 on looks alone and they have gotten pretty good reviews from what i have seen, plus i can get them failrly cheap online.
Thats another thing to note, i know there will be multiple responses saying go to the shop and see which one fits YOU the best…I will be purchasing them online to save money as always and feel like a d bag going into a store trying on 8 pairs of shoes saying thanks and walking out buying nothing (but thats just me).
Northwave makes solid shoes. I really like my Northwave Tribute shoes. Really though fit is the most important thing.
If the Specialized road shoes fit you well, how about the Specialized Trivent? The fit is similar to the road shoes (i.e., narrow), and I have found the Trivent Expert quite comfortable.
I just switched from an old pair of Shimano TR-31’s to Giro Mele shoes and for me they’re an awesome upgrade. Forefoot velcro strap, carbon sole, adjustable arch support, and arguably-over-the-top but fun Silver Surfer aesthetic. I can’t imagine how a shoe could be better.
