Which Polar setup for running Ultras?

Not sure which is the best Polar setup for doing really long running races (50 to 100 miles).

Will their new G3 GPS WIND sensor battery last for say 30 hours?

How do people like the RS800?

Cheers

Depends on what you kind of Data you want to know. The cadence sensor gives distance, pace, pace per mile, stride length, cadence, altitude, etc. The GPS gives you a map when your done but does not include pace and stride info. Though i think you can get the pace with the polar pro trainer once you put everything on there…

I use the RS800SD with S3 sensor. Works great except if you want accurate elevation.

I would probably go with the RS800CX SD over the GPS if you are racing up to 30hrs. The 30hrs is on the low battery setting, which could affect reception if you are trail running. Not sure what Flaco was refering to, but the GPS does give pace on the watch while running and on the PT5 sofware, but he is correct that the Google Earth map is for routing, not really data. Stride and cadence only come from the S3 stride sensor, GPS will provide pace and mapping.
