Oh which one to choose!!!
I’m after buying a new HRM and would like to buy a Polar this time.
Which one would you recommend for HIM and IM training. I’m a bit of a data geek so like to see graphs etc…
Thanks

if you’re into data there’s only one choice so it’s easy. S720, or you could wait for the new “carbon fiber” look S725 which even syncs with certain nokia phones. My opinion, the S725 is ugly, looks like a S710 and has a plastic case and I love my S720. Soon the watches should start shipping with the new flexible wearlink strap as well.
If you are looking for a good HRM, I’d get a timex. I have both a timex HRM and the Polar 720i. I love the polar on the bike (with the power meter), and the downloadable data feature is great. As for using it as a HRM, I’ve found it picks up interference from everything, is really hard to get started again once it loses the signal, and doesn’t sample very often (when using it a bike computer). I’ve been much happier with the timex HRM…simple stopwatch and heart rate. Of course my wife has observed that I love to collect new gadgets. The 720i is probably the best all around HRM/bike computer, IMHO (and using the power meter to train is awesome!).

Polar has been around much longer and has more functional products. I bought the 720i but it was HUGE so I exchanged it for the 610i (I love the graphs too). The data recording works great during workouts. I’ve even slept with it on to plot my resting heart rate. I think the Timex watches look better but Polar offers a more refined product. Plus, most HR based gym equipment read the Polar signal.
