Which brakeset? I have both 0G and DA

Cant give you a definate answer about control. The zero gravity seems to be more finicky. Seems I am always adjusting. I think its worth it though and ride with them in open position. That being said if you decide to get rid of them give me a PM>

I have the 0G Ti’s on my road bike (aka climbing bike) with the SwissStop Yellow Pads (when running carbon wheels) and DA7800’s w/ SS Yellow pads on my P3. I think both brakes are excellent, though the 0G’s are a little more difficult to keep centered since they are a single pivot design. I feel both brakes offer enough stopping power, though some say that the DA brakes have probably the most stopping power.

What kind of brake levers do you have? I haven’t tried the 0G’s with my Vision levers on my TT bike so couldn’t comment on that, but find my 0G’s work very well with both DA7800 and Red levers.

There is a definite weight advantage for the 0G’s, which is important for a climbing bike and possibly less important on a TT bike unless you favor hilly courses.

And whichever brake you install, keep the SwissStop Yellow pads for your carbon wheels- nothing else comes close. (Note that the Yellow Pads on your 0G’s won’t fit the DA 7800 since 0G uses Campy-compatible pads.)

I would go with the DA brakeset. It is easier to set up and easier to use when swapping out wheels - the release is easier to operate. The main issue is set up. I have found the 0Gs to be a little more difficult.

However, you will need to use the correct pads for your wheels and as I am sure you know, the yellow Swiss Stop pads in the 0G can’t be used in the DA. In any event, there are plenty of carbon brake pads out there for DA and some can be had fairly cheaply.

Depends what other bikes, etc. you have. I have ZeroGs, SRAM Red, Ultegra and DA brakes (along with some Tektro and TRPs on the cross bikes).

I used to like the ZeroGs, but not any longer - too finicky. I love the new Red brakes with the centering bolt, bolt tension, etc. But on a tri bike, you really don’t need the modulation you do in a road race/crit with guys all around you in every direction. I’d put the ZeroGs on the tri bike and the DA on the road bike.

On my zeros the right front side during rides when it gets a little gunked up does not release as well. I do wipe down and clean after every ride and lube where needed. I sometimes find myself bending forward to open by hand. Sooner or later I probably loose a finger or two.

I have brakes on my bike to STOP. I want to stop NOW, not sometime in the future.

This is why the carbon brake track wheels stay home when it’s raining, and why I have DA brakes on my bikes.

Then again I’m a roadie sprinter, YMMV. But the point is that from a performance standpoint, there is a noticeable difference.

I think you should go with the DA and sell the OG to me!!!

i haven’t been very happy with my ZeroG’s. i’ve been debating swapping them out for SRAM or something else for the past few weeks. so right now, i’d tell you to go DA for sure.

the ZeroG’s remind me of the old Apple/Mac stuff…more form over function.
