Orbea or Felt… the P3C has become the Trek of triathlon/tt bikes and they’re everywhere
Well I will beat everyone to the punch but the one that fits you the best. If all three fit you very well then I would go for the P3C as it is the best design, most aerodynamic frame of the three.
The P3C because I have and love my P3SL and Soloist. Cervelo makes a great product.
Get a P2C. Much prettier, less $$$$, the aero difference is negligible.
Or get that new FELT. REally aero and really$$$
Or, a beam bike–less$$$$, very aero and VERY comfy.
I like the black of the Felt, but would probably go with the Ordu, since you don’t see them much. The P3 is getting old. Everyone’s buying one wether it fits them or not.
To me Cervélo has a good amount of evidence (results) to prove they have a superior bike.
I am surprised some choose their bikes in the same way that they chose their fashion clothing.

I agree with Sergio. If the bike is fast, who cares if everyone has one? And definately not all aero bikes are made the same so the bike that fits is going to be more important… you may be more aero on something that isn’t as fast in a tunnel if you are properly set up. And just for the record…

He said fit and price aside. So, based on that, it doesn’t matter real world what he’s faster on. The basis of his question might have well been, “Which bike do you like better?”. I personally am sick of seeing P3’s with 3" of spacers and an uptunred stem, so I picked the Orbea. I’d like to be able to find my bike in T2. ![]()
I would get the Orbea out of the three because they look the best to me. Trust me. Aerodynamic benefits are great, but it really doesn’t matter if you aren’t pedaling fast enough. Buy the one you want and train on it hard.
I personally am sick of seeing P3’s with 3" of spacers and an uptunred stem, so I picked the Orbea.
the orbea is much lower than the p3 so tends to require more spacers. Largest size has 111mm HT. Orbea loses on geometry and aeroness, either of the other choices are far superior.
None of those…I would definitely put the Kuota Kalibur at the top of my list. Its light, comfortable, and stiff. In fact, I am thinking about heading to my LBS tomorrow and talk about what kind of deal they can give me on a Kalibur, assuming they think that it would fit me. Plus, and this is important to me…the Kalibur has two sets of water bottle bosses, negating the need to hang crap off of your seat. For me, its much easier to grab and drink, even in the aero position, from bottles underneath me, and seeing them there reminds me to drink. Call me crazy, but I won’t even consider a tri bike these days that doesn’t have two sets of water bottle bosses.

If I had to choose from those three only… The Orbea Ordu. Almost bought one a couple months ago. I do have an Orca as my road bike, and I am mighty impressed by that. Rode the Ordu and it´s a really nice bike. BUT… The QR Lucero just fit me better and felt much more like a part of me, not like the Ordu, which felt like riding a bike… Can´t really explain it, but the Lucero just “spoke to me”.
I would prefer not to make myself fit an “off the shelf bike mass produced in Asia” when I can, for the same $, walk into a Guru dealer and purchase a custom made Guru made in Canada. I think it makes a difference. I certainly felt the difference. My $.02
Happy Thanksgiving.
I wouldn’t call you crazy for that. I have a felt B2 and the #1 complaint I have is the single bottle cage. I hate having garbage hanging off the seat, but running a single cage puts way too much faith in you ability to grab a bottle from an aid station. When I do replace the B2, the replacement must have 2 cages.
I came across an '05 QR Lucero Ultegra new for $3100. It’s got the Real design Supersonics for wheels. How’s this bike and frame for first TT bike going into 4th year of racing with IM hopes?
OK, so I know I made this nice list of bikes earlier in the thread, but I’ll revise it since I just got a great deal on a Giant Carbon Trinity 2. So I guess that goes to the top of my list. lol
Nel34,
The QR Lucero would be a great choice for a TT bike! That’s what I’m using it for (primarily). The Real Design SuperSonics are pretty good wheels as well. Maybe not the lightest, but that will really only mean anything if you live in an area with some serious climbing. It seems as when you get up to speed, they are quite easy to maintain.
The fram itself is absolutely fantastic!!! If I didn’t get such super deal on an '05 D/A Lucero, I would’ve bought Ultegra. It’s just not that much difference…
The price sounds reasonable, so if you have it available, I wouldn’t hesitate. But that’s my opionion… ![]()
Custom made for you, and the most personal support/customer service in the business in my opinion. YMMV
I rode the new Felt at interbike and was amazed. It was seriously fast, stable like a road bike, stiff in the BB and super-aero. The DA wasn’t at the on-road demo so we rode the new B2. It is the same frame without the stiletto fork (which is retro-fittable). The DA is the fastest frame/fork (UCI legal) that you can buy today. The Lotus was faster! All other TT or tri bikes pale by comparison. And the B2 with the cheaper (training?) wheelset is a steal at $3300. So cheap, light, aero, stable, and most important, cool looking. What’s not to like?
