Which bike? (2)

Well here we go. I need some help on which bike to buy.
Kuota K factor (factory spec 105/dura ace mix) but carbon!
Cervelo P2SL (full dura ace) about $2k
or an 06 Cannondale Slice 2 (full dura ace) I found for less than $2k?
arggggg

That one is easy, Cervelo P2SL.

Cervelo P2sl
.

Okay, now for the typical age group question. Anyone know how much the Cervelo weighs? I know weight isn’t that crucial at this price point, but it’s just to satisfy my curiousity. I know what the other two bikes weigh.

The P2SL will fit very differently than the Kuota or the Cannondale. I don’t know how similar the Kuota and Cannondale are, geometry wise.

Between 19 and 20 lbs in stock form, approximately. Dep on size.

Here’s another question. I will need to get the bike fitted (I’ll be sure to go to a F.I.S.T fitter). I spoke with a couple of shops and they said I should get fit first, then select the bike based on the measurements. There seems to be some validity to that statement, but I can’t help but feel that they are steering me into buying a bike from them.
Any thoughts?

“weight isn’t that crucial”

You got that right. But to answer your question, probably 19-20 lbs. Go with the Cervelo.

They are correct about the fitting process. As to whether they are steering you towards buying a bike from them, of course you are. But as long as you are getting the data from them from your fitting sessions (you should be) then you can always take that info to another shop.

Many shop do give you a full or partial credit on the fitting session on the purchase of your bike, so that may be a factor as well.

get measured up for a bike then decide which one fits you best rather than being locked into buying a set bike whilst the p2sl is a great bike at any price point especially at that one it may not fit you that well.

Thanks everyone. I’ll be making an appointment to get fitted before pulling the trigger. I appreciate the help.

I have owned both the Kuota K-factor and the P2 Sl . Personally, I like the Kuota alot better. It seemd to be a smoother ride and alot more comfortable. For what its worth, IMO, Kuota makes one of the best bikes out there.

Don’t mess around, go hopelessly in debt and get a Cervelo P3C. You may be broke, but you will be much faster. Tim

I love passing guys on P3Cs and Zipp wheels with my K-factor and cosmic elite wheelset. Im partial to the Kuota with ultegra, T2+ cobras and a good engine.
