Which bars are these?

I’m talking about the clip on shortys. I know they are made by Hed, but can’t seem to find the model.

They are one off shorty’s that Steve HED made for Lance
.

They highlighted the development of these in “The Lance Chronicles” back in 2005. HED designed them for the Alpe d’Huez TT in the Tour that year. Ventoux was in the Dauphine before the tour, which is where they test all the new goodies.

Hed Cliplite (now called Fliplites or something like that) s-bend with the older style non-flip up brackets and custom cut down armwrest supports. HED might still have some of these original brackets floating around, personally I liked them a lot more than the current flip up arm restes…

so how hard would it be to make something like that? I tried normal clipons, but that pissed off my bike and she rebelled with nasty speed wobble above 30 mph. I just want a short, simple S bend bar with a small bracket and a minimal arm rest (if any). Key feature is that I need to to be level with the base bar. A major issue I had with the clipons was that while my drop on the road bars was perfect, I was way too high in the aerobars. I really want a bar that will put my hands at the same level as the hoods, just centered (so maybe an underbar setup would be better).

did you read Dan’s review on the Oval bars on the main ST page?

If not the HED bars might be just what you’re looking for. You could just slice off the armrest mounts and wrap a piece of neoprene or something under your bar tape to make some low profile pads…

Felt Bicycles makes just the mini-clip on bars you are asking for. They’ve been discussed a few times on this forum and used by some high profile ITU racers.
