Which aerobars can I angle in?

Hi folks,

Because I’m so darn inflexible, there is really no aerobar pad width in which my shoulders and lats are comfortable beyond 2.5 hours.

All the aerobars / pads I can find force my forearms to be parallel to my bike/body/wheels/etc.

What I really want are aerobars that support pads that can be rotated in so that my forearms could go to the triangle position that I know would make them happy. I know that’s not the most aero position for my arms, but it would allow me to stay down longer and that is better than sitting up on the bullhorns later in long rides/races.

Can anyone point me at just such a basebar/elbowpad setup?

Thanks,

Jeff

If you use s bends and turn them on their sides you should be able to get close to what you are thinking. Mine do that a bit. The ends of the extensions are a couple of inches narrower than the pads. The pads are angled to make it comfortable. They are the T2 extensions.

I’ve thought of that but, unfortunately, my Vision Tech elbow pads are cupped such that they really don’t allow my forearms to be anything but parallel to the bike.

But perhaps I could use your suggestion with elbow pads which have less cup to them.

Profile T1 and T2 (Alloy or Cobra) are good options. The pads sit wide relative to the extensions, and pivot to angle in, giving you a comfortable “triangular” position.

My Oval Concepts pads/bar adjust like that. I have them slanted in only slightly, but they’d go much further into a triangle.

Same boat as you and just bought the T1 alums last week and love them. Had used T2’s, but flat doesn’t work for my body. LOVE the T1.
