Over the last few years I have done most of my running in various Saucony Kinvaras. Boss gave me an Adidas gift card for x-mas and I’m wondering which shoes to buy.

I’m in for an answer the other way around…I run 90% of my training miles on Adidas Takumi Ren, and when I want to race hard, I use the race version, Takumi Sen. (Japanese-designed shoe, no boost foam.) I get along with these shoes very well for the most part! I would like, however, a very similar shoe with a wider toe box as progressively with each iteration of the Takumi’s, adidas makes them slightly narrower, slightly cheaper quality, and slightly higher price…but the problem I encounter is that when I meet someone who genuinely understands shoes, they understand only one brand, so it’s hard to find something different that will complement what I have that works, and perhaps work better. The wife doesn’t like it when I experiment with new shoes and then end up finding they are unsuitable for me…but would very much like to try Saucony.
