Whey Protien recommendations

Can some of you recommend a decent tasting whey protein, chocolate or vanilla? The only one I’ve bought was Hammer’s flavor-free, and I don’t want to purchase that again.

Also, something that’s not $800/bucket, and that I can pick up at most places, if that makes sense.

Thanks.

I use the EAS stuff - the taste isn’t bad. You should be able to get it at just about any healthstore.

Optimum nutrition, 100% whey, available in more flavors than baskin robbins, all that i have tried have been good, except chocolate mint
.

GNC 100% Whey. The Cookies and Cream flavor is DELICIOUS!!!

I get EAS Vanilla at Sam’s Club. Tastes good, disolves well and is pretty cheap. Large bag with something like 90 servings for $26.

I think that the best whey protein is NO-WHEY PROTEIN. Oh, maybe I should brand that.

Best Tasting proteins:

Muscle Milk and Syntha6

Best Value:

EAS or any 5lb. jug for 30.00 or less go to: www.supplementwholesaler.com

Best Quality:

Nature’s Best ISOPURE isolate. 50g’s per serving with about 50 other nutrients such as amino acids, glutamine. Mixes well with water or milk

Thanks for the replies, everyone.

And what do you mean by “No-Whey Protien”?

Why?

Hammer might not win any taste tests, but that stuff’s 100% whey protein isolate. High quality stuff.

I have to agree with this. I used to drink whey protein and have stopped. The process of getting whey is very interesting. I switched to hemp protein and find that I recover alot better with it because its less nutritional stress. I also found that it was harder to keep weight off when using whey.

Nature’s Best Zero Carb IsoPure Whey.

It actually dissolves in water and has a very mild taste.

It’s pricier than most others, but massnutrition.com has the 7.5lb paint bucket size for under $60.

Optimum Nutrition is the by far the best tasting, the cheapest and the most bang for your buck.

How did you objectively and accurately gauge your recovery time on whey vs hemp protein?

What does the process of getting whey being interesting have to do with its efficacy as a food product?

Best tasting whey is easily Beverly International, which is basically the boutique stuff used by the pro bodybuilders.

STuff by Beverly has to be fairly pricey though, right?

Yep, I believe it’s around $50 a tub.

My body building friends have mostly gone back to eggs…I believe they are called Lana’s Whites. The other’s buy from Sam’s Club and do it themself. I couldn’t imagine eating 25 eggs a day. Yuck.

you can also just buy powdered skim milk and add it to water or skim milk for a cheap protein shake
it will have a mix of casein and whey
.

While I’d agree with that…it would be simliar to a body builder saying that a regular set of bearings is just as good as ceramics!

;o)

It really is just as good though, in fact maybe better since you get a “Fast” and a "slow acting protein at the same time =)
