Wheres the hype about the 70.3 WC's? What pros are racing?

  1. There should be more hype and excitment about this. I have always said that the 1/2 IM distance is the perfect( well perhaps the swim should be a bit longer) meeting ground between the IM distance and the Olympic distance.

  2. The timing is not great - less than a month after IMH and a week after IMFL and at the very tail-end of the ITU season.

  3. You had to have done another 70.3 race to qualify. That’s OK, but many if the ITU folks would likley not had time to go to a 70.3 race to get a spot.

  4. This one of the first races that WTC is doing on their own in partnership with local event organizers. Word on the street is that it’s been a bit of a challenge. The course was not even finalized until about a month ago!

Just some quick thoughts.

I don’t know but I can’t wait to see Lessing vs Alexander vs Bozzone vs whoever else shows up.

Indeed, despite what people may say here, it could shape up to be a great race. Lessing has been somewhat out of the picture all year. Could be saving himself for a real ripper of a race at Clearwater. On paper, in my mind he is still the best all-around triathlete in the world. True, He has not be able to really uncork a great IM race and it’s the only thing missiong from his race CV, but my thinking is the year away from it may have served him well and if he comes back to it next year - watch out!

no worrie…i will start the coverage today!!! i just finish the race package and timing chip allocation but none for simon lessing…i dont see him on my list??? is he coming?

i m in the registration room and there is a lot of activity going one…we are opening tomorow and it should get more and more fun as the day get closer…

nop…there isnt such thing…everyone is suppose ot be on the list…but he isnt…

we will see in the next few hours…we always have last minutes registration…but for now…there is a few pro missing on the list…maybe they arent coming…???
