That is smart. It is odd when somebody buys a bike that no one can provide a delivery date for.

In all seriousness, I feel really bad for people when their bikes are late. I just wish we actually did have a system in place to at least give them tangible information.

On the bright side, we actually got a ton of bikes in today and the system does seem to be improving slowly.

I get very similar gripes from my customers except that they’re griping to me about labor contracts for their voice and data networks. I wish I worked in a bike shop. I could at least understand the enthusiasm for the product even if it gets annoying sometimes!

I know youre just venting, but remember, when people buy a bike, theyve probably been lusting after it for years, and saving up just as long. Youre mad because they gave you thousands dollars and they arent 100% satisfied with, “I have no idea when it will be in or where it is”? Thats probably why theres only one LBS i shop at out of the three here where i live. Only one keeps me informed and calls me with any updates on any of my orders. You sound exactly like the guy on Clerks, “This job would be great if it weren’t for the f**kin’ customers”
