Where to swim in NYC (1)

Hi

I am NYC and I am looking for a place to swim, ideally mid-town on the east side. Would be going this afternoon around 5 pm and most likely Sunday in the morning.

Ideally a +20 meter pool with a not to crazy drop-in fee

Any suggestions?

You’re in NYC. Gonna be hard to find anywhere with those requirements.

Chelsea Piers has a nice 25 yard pool. Not sure of drop in fee.

You can cab or subway up the east side (90th and the water) and hit Asphalt Greens pool. Probably the nicest in the city. 50 meter.

I’m not aware of any great pools in midtown and the east side, but 24 hour fitness has a location with an 18 or 20 yard pool in midtown east.

NYSC. There are 3 in Manhattan with pools: 24th and 2nd, 49th and Broadway, and 91st and 3rd.

For Sunday (or any other day) morning, you can go check out Riverbank State Park, uptown, westside.
$2 per swim, 50m pool.

I don’t know any other places with drop-ins, but I’ve never looked.

Ashpalt Green on the upper east, near end of York Ave.

Asphalt Green is nice. Sunday morning they have a 50m set up.

Go Ahead and pull a KRAMER, the Hudson on Sunday morning should be the hot ticket in town.

Drop in with Red Tide Masters on Sunday at Baruch (25th and Lex)

There are sometimes out of towners that drop in. Bring a Masters card if you have one.
