Where to stay in Victoria BC?

I’m heading up to Victoria BC for work next week and my sister who is visiting the northwest for the first time will be with me. We’re only going to be up there overnight and it will be our first time in Victoria BC so are looking for a good place to stay that’s not too expensive (it’s for business but it’s my company so technically my money)

I’ve been to Victoria several times on business and have stayed at the Hotel Grand Pacific. It’s around $170 CAD for a basic room mid week. Although this does not qualify as cheap it’s not too bad, and the hotel is really nice. Good workout center with lap pool, coffee shop, restaurant, and is walking distance to a lot of great restaurants across the harbor. Good running in the area as well.

Do a search for Traveller’s Inns. There are about 5 or 6 on Douglas close to downtown. I’d think the rates would be in the $70-$85 range. The Empress and the Grand Pacific are nice, and so is the Delta Laurel Pointe, but they are spendy.

THanks everyone - I’ll look into these today. I imagine I might end up going the Travellers Inn way but if I can find a decent deal I might be able to talk myself into getting a nicer hotel as my sister’s 30th bday was yesterday so I might just mentally write it off as a little gift to her.

I appreciate the help and now if I can get the projected weekend weather (60’s and sunny) to stick around through Wedns it’ll be perfect!

Harbour Towers
A nice hotel with a lot of different options.
Price and location are really good.
Beautiful run right along the water and walking distance to Downtown and restaurants.
Canadian National teams use it quite often beacause of the suites with kitchens and the size of rooms.
Have stayed there a lot.

have “high tea” and act all hoity toity

THANKS! My sister is all jazzed about getting high tea somewhere (we partially grew up in Ireland so it’s something she loves) so I’m going to check that out now.

Harbour towers x2 Stayed for a week in, October, a block from the water and about 3 from the empress, great location and I think our room with a kitchenette was about 150/night, so I would think a straigh room would be a reasonable price and you never have to catch a cab.
