I’ll be racing Gulf Coast in May and I’m looking for suggestions of where to stay. I looked in to the Boardwalk, but I think all that is left are Howard Johnson rooms.
Any suggestions on where to stay?
Sterling Beach is a very new very clean Condo tower about 1.5 miles from the start. We stayed there at IMFL and this was the first time that the accomodations in PC Beach actually were very impressive. We all loved it.

The Americana has the best tri hospitality and generally hosts the winner of both Gulf Coast and IMFL.

Lots of folks I know stay at the Summitt condos-- probably 1/4 mile from the race site. My wife refuses to stay there again – we got a lousy room. We did find a place listed by Abbott Resorts called GulfCrest Condos – very new, very clean. We will be staying there again.

I just registered at the Hampton Inn. It is not right on the water, but via Travelocity, it was like 116/night. I’m assuming it will be nice, quiet, clean, and comfy.
The places on the beach, from my experience, can be nice or not so nice. it all depends on the room you get.
