We are visiting the in-laws in Spring Valley and was planning on renting a bike. From the search function i see stayclassybikes.com may be a good choice assuming they deliver to Spring Valley - any other suggestions are welcome.
Anyway, I was looking for a couple of good routes where I can ride directly from the house. I will be there for a week and 3-4 hour rides are probably in the ball park; could go longer one day. Also any ideas of where to avoid is also helpful.
I went on Google maps and see Clevelend State Forest, but not sure if there is riding there. Thanks for your help.

Someone more local will probably chime in, but I like using Strava Heatmaps to see which roads are favored by riders. Here’s a link: http://labs.strava.com/heatmap/#13/-116.97943/32.72944/blue/bike
From Spring Valley you are not far from one of the classic east San Diego County rides, the Great Western loop. From SV it is about a 51 mile loop with some decent climbing. If you want to extend the ride longer you could do an out and back by turning left on Japatul Valley Road http://ridewithgps.com/routes/8097976
Thank you. Just what I needed. I also saw a little more northern loop that I could access http://momentbicycles.com/articles/wildcat-canyon-pg86.htm
