There is virtually no competition for handicapped spots, so I’ve found using my placard from MCL surgery works pretty well. As a Kona qualifier, just remember, the rules aren’t intended for you
I have always had good luck parking behind Lava Java. There is a public parking lot there.
Shopping centers up Palani and then walk.
I have always parked in the shopping centers on Palani Rd. I get there early – before the swim. You’ll be a bit “stuck” there, but you can get out by the time the bike ends in the early evening. Don’t park illegally anywhere – they’re strict about it. Usually that is well marked though.
