Where to park for IM Wisconsin?

Hi everyone,

I am driving up to Madison to register for the IMWI 2008 but really don’t know anything about the place as I’ve never been. The plan is to go up on Sunday to cheer on my friends who are racing and then register on Monday, but I have no idea what the parking situation is like. I don’t doubt that there are going to be road closures and pandemonium galore.

The IMMoo website FAQs say that the spectator guide has parking locations but the only thing in there is road closures, so I’m kind of at a loss. Can anybody out there offer up some suggestions?

Parking is pretty easy near the capital. Just drive downtown and find a place on the street (near downtown).

Thanks for the pointer. Do they allow overnight parking on the street though? I’m assuming they don’t.

I am thinking the same. Are there still places to stay?
