I recently bought Tufo Elite tubular tires and they could be pumped up to 220psi. I have only found pumps that could reach 160psi. Where can one buy such a pump? And is the extra 60psi worth the purchase? I’ll be using them at the Florida Half Ironman. I was told the roads are super smooth so I’d assume the higher the pressure the better. Please advise…
The higher PSI may not be what the doctor ordered. Higher PSI doesn’t always = more speed. That being said, the easiest way to crank up the PSI without needing to buy a pump would be C02. That way you could test the higher PSI and see what it actually gains you, and if any speed gains would be worth feeling your teeth chattering if you even rode over a grain of sand…
