Where in the world am I?

Should these be a big thread instead of separate ones? Correct guesser posts the next one? Personally I think they’re awesome between knowledge of the place and geoguessr approaches

I’d say a pin within 500m should roughly be the criteria for a correct guess? And/or a specific place name? Or poster can specify criteria?

I don’t have a guess, but want to say I always enjoy these threads. Nice shot.

IMO, I’d say a new thread every time as I think these are always thread-worthy.

Berlin-ish?

Auckland? My step sister lived there for a few years and I think she’s posted pretty much that same view (but during the daylight so it’s hard to tell). I remember the tree and the spire.

That is Auckland.

Prague?

Well done both. But how close can you get to the spot from where the photo was taken?

To Tara tree site? One tree hill

Knowing you are from NZ and the sky tower made it Auckland. It was more a question of how to get that view.

knowing poster background is certainly an asset  although it can be a red herring

just spent 3 days in Auckland, longest I’ve ever been there LOL

I’ll give 5 of those to Jack for mentioning a tree so a search of ‘views of Auckland with a tree’ led to a hit for One tree hill. Was a scramble to then find the tree in a cage.

Going by your rules and applying my strategy, here’s my entry. Ironnerd and Amnesia could likely shoot this out of the sky in seconds. Thats one hint.

That rock is iconic locally. The foreground is another hint.

I’d say you need to answer by posting an internet image as evidence.

And in the interest of cultural enrichment, here’s a thoughtful history of the hill and the trees that have lived atop it

I’ve not yet been that far out of Perth; next trip maybe

Not many in Perth have either. It’s an 8 hour drive.Thankfully. Keeps the crowds down.

And yes well done

Ok, that means I’ve gotta post the next one

Exact place name of photo spot or map pin within 100m takes it

A considerable hint is the window reflections and the fact that I had no ability to avoid them without breaking several laws.

Looks like One WTC shape. Unclear if sunrise or sunset to help bearing. Err on sunrise with LR folk being more morning people thus west of building.

Newark?

warm but nowhere near hot

Well is the sun getting warmer or colder ? Lol

Suspect the well-travelled North American folk here will nail it.
