I am looking to build up a set of carbon wheels but a not sure where to buy the rims. I searched for Carbotec and Gigantex but no luck. Hongfu has something similar for $345 but there must be a better source…
eBay has them for around $300-$350 but I’m not sure who they’re manufactured by…

Depending on what components you are using, you might be just as happy with a set of Williams Carbon Clinchers (or keep waiting on the FLO wheels …)
Just under a grand with good specs (weight, aero, hybrid ceramic bearings, hand built) compared with the competition. 40% the cost of a set of Zipps (though I love mine) ![]()
I believe Williams are made by Gigantex.
This place looks intriguing:
Chinese New Year sale on until Jan. 31st!
I’ve never bought anything from them and can’t say if they are good or bad. Just intriguing.
eBay (carbon_goods and the like) are sold from Dengfu: http://dengfubikes.com/
As you’ve said, you’ve already found Hongfu. I built a bike from Hongfu and it turned out great.
This thread has TONS of data (am I allowed to link to another forum?):

I have a pair of Yishun wheels (my other aero pair is HED Stinger 6) and they’re excellent for the money. Cannot recommend them highly enough. If you are going for regular V-profile carbon wheels, these are pretty much as good as any of the others.
