Where can I find high heels that fit a guy?

In association with a local 5K, these folks are having a 100-yd high heel run. I can’t imagine there will be more than a couple dudes who are stupid enough to do it, so my odds of bringing home the trophy should be pretty good.

Where would one look to find some high heel shoes that would fit about a men’s size 9? And anyone know roughly what size in chick shoes I should be looking for?

I know I could go to some on-line drag queen shop, but I’d prefer to find some used somewhere.

If I could find some knee-high stripper-style boots, I’d rock the speedo & wrasslin mask in the race too.

I have nothing to contribute, but I have to ask, is this really a good idea? Just seems to me like you’d be asking for a broken ankle… Good luck with it, here’s hoping you don’t get injured.

Head to Goodwill or any other second hand shop.

I totally disagree with razor. The memory will outlive any injury you might get. Have Fun!!

I dressed up as a French maid for Halloween…got my heels at Payless.

wow! what a bad idea. one major injury for sure.

Oh, I’m sure there will be a great memory. I’m getting a great (or horrible, depending on how you look at it) mental image just thinking about it.
It’s just that when I read “high-heels” and “run”, my first thought was “broken ankle”. As long as no injury occurs, I’m sure it would be hilarious. So here’s wishing you the best!

Don’t go out in the rain, you might get sick!

Try Payless shoes.

normally I’d say pics or it didn’t happen, but in this case I believe video is mandatory.

Payless is a great suggestion. I think it is 2 sizes that is the difference, so you’d wear an 11?

Get a stacked heal, don’t go for spiked or you’ll get injured for sure.

Women’s shoes are typically 1.5 sizes smaller than a men’s (i.e. a 9 in men’s would be a women’s 10.5). Lots of stores will carry these. I had a friend who worked at Nordstrom who said they always carried larger sizes since the TG crowd were great customers (very polite and came to buy, not browse). Payless or Target are good calls, since you probably don’t want to spring for Manolos that cost what a disc wheel does.
Also find out what constitues a “high heel”; it would suck to show up in 4" heels when someone else has 2".

my sisters wear bigger sizes than you.
any shoe store would do- go to some place like payless- they usually go up to womens 12s (which would be too big for you)

My gf is 5’11" and has a women’s 13, that is about a 11 in men’s sizes. I’m sure any store you go to will have the size you need…enjoy the weird looks you’re about to get when you ask for heels in your size

I tried buying shoes for my gf one time, asked for women’s shoes in size 13 and the woman just looked at my feet and then looked up at me with a ‘sure these are for your gf kind of look’

Please post some pics of the race.
Not only from you but from some other participants as well.

If you find the right kind of bar to get really really drunk in, you can probably find the shoes at the foot of your bed the next morning:

.

Just about anywhere will have shoes that fit you. Is there a heel minimum height requirement?

If your interested in winning, I would look into adding some rubber (shoe goo) to the toe part of the sole to allow for better traction. It is only a 100m run so you should be able to run exclusively on your toes the whole way. You also might want to look into altering the shoes so that the heels break away at the start, but that might be against the spirit of the race if not actually penalty worthy.

I saw one of these races and there were some “pro” tricks…

Like a previous poster said, use the lowest/widest legal heel. Shoe Goo or contact cement/rubber on the sole. Tape up your ankles/shoes to reduce the chance of a sprain or the shoes flying off (DQ). Run on your toes as long as possible. Warm up.

Good luck.

Brad

I’ve rocked heels in a run before and a few things:

-practice a bit. It seems silly to say, but just to be sure…
-High cadence w/ short strides will reduce your chance for injury. Shorter strides will lower the force on your ankle for if/when you come down a bit funny.
-Block style heels FTW (stiletto heels ftl)

photos and video are fun to have, but if you let them out you can’t get them back… just sayin’

Depending on the minimum height, Go with cowboy boots. The heals are 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 for most.
