To the OP: don’t listen to others opinions or “medical studies” qouted on the matter of salt tabs. TEST FOR YOURSELF.
All I know is, they work for me. I used to get severe cramps in the tear drop of my quads on every bike/run brick longer than 2 hrs, drinking sports drinks and gels. I started taking a salt tab (I use S caps) before the run and just like that… no more cramps. If I forget to take the salt tab, cramps. If I take the salt tab… no cramps. Evidence enough for me.
